X-expats.com is a social network launched in November 2009 to fill a void repatriates (returnees and returning expats) experience when returning to a country used to call home. Whoever went through the process knows that the transition is difficult: Reverse Culture shock, insufficient recognition of the skills honed abroad, not to mention the difficulty to locate centralized/ up to date resources and support (administrative, professional, and personal) facilitating the return to a country that has become foreign in many ways.
Global exposure is the basis for personal and professional development. You know that, X-expats.com recognizes it but why so few countries and organizations support and promote the return of repatriates? Doesn’t it make sense to seize on the knowledge and skills brought back by these individuals? Only institutions acknowledging the resources that repatriates and X-expatriates make to their avail by returning home will continue to grow and expand their activities internationally.
Filling a void
X-expats.com’s aim is to cater to the needs of aspiring/new repatriates/returning expatriates by providing a platform supporting the sharing of knowledge and resources in order to enrich each other’s life, provide or get support, therefore enabling members of X-expats.com to be an asset to the community not only virtually but also locally. Initially covering selected countries in Europe and North America, X-expats.com is committed to expand its global reach to assist repatriates worldwide.

X-expats. com was developed by individuals who have worked and traveled internationally; and are acutely aware of the challenges repatriates face when returning “home”.
